Just a thought: Does being happy with yourself mean being happy alone?

I hear all the time, "You don't need anyone, just be happy with yourself." but does that mean being happy BY yourself? what if you are happy with yourself truly happy with the way you are, but you just don't like feeling your alone in your own life, you feel a strong need to share your life with someone special. Does that mean your not happy with yourself? I thought it was only human nature to desire a mate. So does being happy with yourself mean being happy alone?

Being happy with yourself, and being happy BY yourself are too incredibly different states of mind. Being happy with yourself usually means that you have a healthy self image, are proud of what you've accomplished, and are overall happy with the choices that you've made and the life that you've chosen. Being happy BY yourself, is something I have not seen many people accomplish, at least not for any great period of time. Desiring a mate is most certainly human nature, humans are social creatures, we rely on each other to stimulate our lives, bring meaning to our creation, and give us prolonged happiness that is an entirely different kind of happiness than self-happiness. I can tell you that being happy with yourself is incredibly important in a relationship-- happy breeding happy- because it allows you the independence and freedom from constantly relying on others to make you happy. No one should have to be alone, but everyone deserves the right to choose, create, and maintain their own happiness.

so?
